Faisalabad is Pakistan's third-largest city and its textile capital, and that shapes who walks into a bank asking for car financing: mill owners, traders, commission agents and power-loom operators, most of them self-employed. Every halal auto product on the national market serves Faisalabad. The catch is that this market prices self-employed applicants noticeably worse than salaried ones, and in a city where self-employment is the norm, that premium is the single most important number to understand before you shop.

What is available
The full national menu. Ijarah: Meezan Car Ijarah at published fixed rates of 12.98% to 13.29% (August 3, 2026 crawl), Bank Alfalah, Allied Aitebar, and Askari's fixed-rental product. Diminishing Musharakah: UBL Ameen Drive, Faysal Islami, BankIslami, HBL Islamic, Bank AL Habib, Al Baraka Carsaaz, DIB and MCB MICAR. Side-by-side details are on our auto financing page.
The self-employed premium, in numbers
The published gaps are consistent across the market. Askari's fixed rentals run 13.79% to 14.12% for salaried buyers but 15.04% to 15.37% for the self-employed, about 1.25 percentage points. Faysal prices new cars at 1-year KIBOR plus 5% salaried versus plus 6% for self-employed businessmen. Meezan's security deposit starts at 15% for salaried applicants but 25% for businessmen, rising to 35% on SUVs. MCB MICAR wants Rs 100,000 monthly income from the self-employed against Rs 60,000 salaried. None of this is arbitrary; undocumented income is harder to underwrite. But it is worth planning around.
How Faisalabad buyers can soften it
Documentation is the lever. The premium prices the bank's uncertainty about your income, so tax returns, well-kept business accounts, and an established banking relationship all move you toward better tiers. Al Baraka Carsaaz asks the market's lowest self-employed floor at Rs 35,000 a month, and BankIslami states no minimum income at all, accepting rental and remittance income, useful for landlord-traders and families with members abroad. One caution from our research on Al Baraka: its eligibility text mentions one year in business while its document checklist demands three years' proof, an unresolved inconsistency on the bank's own page. Bring three years of paperwork to be safe.
The national numbers
Financing caps at PKR 3 million at most banks under the SBP consumer aggregate limit; Meezan's ceiling is PKR 10 million. Tenures reach 5 years up to 1000cc and 3 years above at most banks. Takaful is mandatory, with published bank-panel rates from 1.49% at BankIslami to 1.75% at HBL and 1.99% and up at Meezan; digital operators Salaam Takaful and TPL quote motor cover online. Trackers are near-universal.
Honest notes for Faisalabad
A commercial vehicle for the business is a different product from consumer car finance; the products here are for private use, and a pickup for the mill needs the bank's business financing desk. Half the market publishes no rate, so branch visits around the Clock Tower business district are unavoidable; collect at least three written quotes in one week. And if the goal is a car above PKR 3 million of financing, the choices are the same as everywhere: a heavier deposit or Meezan's higher ceiling. Frequently asked questions
Which bank is easiest for self-employed buyers in Faisalabad?
Al Baraka Carsaaz has the lowest self-employed income floor at Rs 35,000 a month, and BankIslami states no minimum income, accepting rental and remittance income. Easier entry does not mean cheaper pricing, so still compare total cost against Faysal's and UBL's published matrices.
Why do I pay more than my salaried brother for the same car?
Banks price income certainty. A salary slip is verifiable monthly; business income is not. The published gap runs about one to 1.25 percentage points on the rate and up to 10 extra points of deposit. Strong tax and account documentation narrows it.
Can I finance a loader or pickup for my business this way?
No. These are consumer products for private vehicles. Commercial vehicle needs go through the banks' business and SME financing lines, several of which also run Islamic modes like Ijarah and Diminishing Musharakah.
What paperwork should a trader bring?
CNIC, three years of business proof, bank statements, and tax returns if you file them. The stronger the paper, the closer you get to salaried pricing. An existing relationship with the financing bank helps; UBL prices existing customers half a point below new-to-bank ones.

Is there a women's discount in Faisalabad?
The national concessions apply: Al Baraka publishes 1% off the profit rate for women, Faysal's Amal gives 50% off processing, and Askari offers a dedicated women's variant of its fixed-rental Ijarah.
